CGI Facility Background

CGI Production Facility

A theoretical project exploring the ideal facilities for the production of Computer Generated Imagery

The exploration of a new building typology, the digital graphics centre. A facility that can provide an ideal environment for the production of film and computer games special effects. The design strategy focused on creating a frame that could be inhabited by a collection of pods that can be relocated as the facility changed or expanded. Located within an abandoned quarry enabled the expansion potential to be both vertical and horizontal.
